Locate It: Braselton

A cordial welcome. A welcome change. It’s just the beginning of what you’ll find in the charming town of Braselton, Georgia. This dynamic community is home to the world-class resort, winery, and golf club, Château Élan, as well as to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, one of the world’s best road courses.

Escape to “the French countryside in the hills of North Georgia” at Château Élan, just 40 minutes from Atlanta. This four-diamond facility features highly acclaimed accommodations and dining, world-class golf, a tennis complex and equestrian center, and a European health spa. Additionally, Château Élan offers tours of its full-production winery and daily tastings of its estate-bottled wines.

Many people visit Château Élan for the golf alone. Few golf resorts possess the beauty and variety offered by Château Élan’s 63 holes of championship golf on three public and one private course. From the rolling Georgia hills of the Woodlands, to the serene valley lakes on the Château, each course has its own character and design.

Braselton is also home to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, recognized as one of the finest road racing circuits in North America. Less than an hour north of downtown Atlanta, the track hosts several major events during the year including the world-famous Motul Petit Le Mans, Drift Atlanta presented by Papa John’s, The Mitty vintage classic, GRIDLIFE South music and motorsports festival, MotoAmerica superbike event, and numerous club and corporate events.

The Town of Braselton currently has a park in downtown Braselton with a playground, splashpad, tennis courts, and a pavilion. There are sometimes special events including festivals at the park during the year. The Braselton Town Green also hosts numerous special events, including concerts and movies.

One of Braselton’s more exciting recreational sites is the Mulberry RiverWalk along the Mulberry River north of Interstate 85. The Town identified the Mulberry River and its banks as a part of Braselton that should be protected and preserved, and the Town has acquired more than 200 acres along the river. The Town has constructed a naturalized (not paved) walking trail with perennial gardens, foot bridges and picnic areas along the river for the public to enjoy. The spot where all four of Braselton’s counties (Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, and Jackson) come together is on the trail and denoted by a monument and a small rest stop along the river.

A new park in the vicinity is under development and is expected to include paved walking/running trails, a bike trail, natural foot paths and pedestrian bridges along the Mulberry River to the State Route 124 bridge, children’s outdoor play equipment, a dog park, picnic pavilion, an interactive water feature, a continuous water course in the shape of the Braselton “B” logo, and restroom facilities.
