This 256-acre tract along the Little Tallapoosa River includes paved and natural trails for hiking and equestrian use, tent and RV camping, a comfort station and a 7-acre open meadow.

This park’s central location makes it a perfect jumping off spot for exploring area waterfalls, mountain bike trails, shops and restaurants.

Located in Houston and Pulaski counties this 12,750-acre property offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, coyote and feral hog, as well as geocaching (restricted during hunting season), primitive camping, river fishing and wildlife viewing.

The mountain is similar to both Stone Mountain and Heritage Area sister, Arabia Mountain but unlike either, it has never been quarried. Today, the park has expanded to more than 1,600 acres and includes lakes, a former golf course now returned to nature and early settler homesteads.

A 375-acre lake is popular with boaters and skiers, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish and bream is excellent. Paddlers can rent canoes and kayaks.

Standing Boy Trails is located in the northern portion of the City of Columbus. This 1,580-acre property lies on the shore of Lake Oliver and offers excellent opportunity for hiking, running, biking, and wildlife viewing. It is managed by The City of Columbus via Standing Boy, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Quota hunts are held during the fall and spring. All quota hunts are archery (the trails remain open) except for a youth turkey hunt in the spring. The trail system may close after heavy rains. A parking pass is required, and a State Parks pass is not valid.
