Shakerag Park is a rustic and presently lightly developed, 66-acre community park that features a 1.1-mile nature trail that loops under 200 year old hardwoods and past one of Johns Creek’s only working farms. There is also a 3.8-acre lake, batting cages, picnic pavilions, and athletic fields.

Standing Boy Trails is located in the northern portion of the City of Columbus. This 1,580-acre property lies on the shore of Lake Oliver and offers excellent opportunity for hiking, running, biking, and wildlife viewing. It is managed by The City of Columbus via Standing Boy, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Quota hunts are held during the fall and spring. All quota hunts are archery (the trails remain open) except for a youth turkey hunt in the spring. The trail system may close after heavy rains. A parking pass is required, and a State Parks pass is not valid. The four-acre park features a trailhead kiosk for the quarter-mile nature trail, which has a soft/natural walking surface as it meanders through young pines, established magnolia trees, and more species. The park also features a picnic table near the trail entrance, new landscaping, and a concrete sidewalk providing pedestrian access from the State Bridge Road sidewalk.

This is one of 17 public waterfalls and a beautiful 20’ cascade. It is a special place with a 9-mile bike/hiking loop around the area, making it a fairly secluded place to visit.

Directions: From Clayton take 441 South 2.7 miles, turn right onto Tiger Road. Go 1.1 miles and take a left at the light onto Old 441 South. Go 2.3 miles and turn right at the Stonewall Falls Mountain Bike trail sign. Continue for 1.3 miles and there is a parking area up the hill to your right. To go the remaining .4 miles by car you will need a high clearance vehicle.

The kids love the large playground with gravity rail swing, shaded sandbox with toys, and more. The park also features multi-purpose sports fields and a 1-mile walking trail with fitness equipment along the path.

Only minutes from downtown Atlanta, a wooded trail follows the stream to the ruins of a textile mill burned during the Civil War. Also fishing, canoeing, and picnicking.

The Walk at Sandy Run is a 22-acre park that includes two waterside boardwalks, concrete walking paths, play area and a covered picnic area. Pets are welcome and pet clean up stations are available. There is also plenty of green space for playing yard games or just enjoying a day outside.

This linear park stretches from Plum Street to Walnut Street, with walkways lined with Cherry Trees.

This park has picnic tables, boat launch and nature trails.

Union Hill Park is 13-acre park off Windward Parkway on Union Hill Road. The park’s amenities include an outdoor pop up skate park, as well as a covered roller hockey rink, access to the Big Creek Greenway and concession stand available for rental.

Peachtree City has a nine-hole disc golf course nestled in the Village Green Park, near Highway 54. The course is mostly flat but also known to have a lot of trees and rolling hills. The multi-use path system also intersects the 7th hole.

Village Park at North Henry comprises 34 acres and is equipped with an event lawn, an interactive water feature, paved walking trails and many more amenities.

The paved path for walking or biking is about 0.66 miles, with lots of shade. There are restrooms and water fountains, and open spaces for picnics or to toss a frisbee.

Waller Park offers a place to walk on nature trails, play on the athletic fields, swing at the playground, enjoy the picnic area, or play basketball in the recreation center.

This scenic green city park has a stream, pond & waterfall, plus benches & paved walking paths.
