Chapel Hills is known for its signature double green on which golfers can complete both the front and back nines. Undulating double greens on holes 9 and 18 are some of the best kept and fastest in the area.

Located just four miles from downtown Atlanta, The Charlie Yates Golf Course at East Lake is a 9-hole, Par 30,mid-length course with Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens.

Beginner hiker friendly (2.5miles) with lake and river views. Discovery Center for kids along with natural history and animal exhibits along the trail. New Screaming Eagle zip line aerial adventure.

The Palisades unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is the southernmost unit in the park. It’s broken up into east and west sections which are divided by the river. The East Palisades, in the southeastern corner of Sandy Springs city limits, is more rugged, with all-dirt trails that have rocky sections and steep inclines that lead to several overlooks of the river and woodlands.

Featuring an abundant number of trail segments and sections (conveniently numbered and easily navigable using various trail maps and posts sprinkled throughout the park), the East Palisades is a place where visitors can tailor a run or hike to their abilities and interests. The Bamboo Forest at East Palisades is full of 30-foot tall, bamboo stalks, creating a bit of serenity.

The park lands and waters are open for day-use only from dawn to dusk year round. Dawn is defined as 30 minutes before legal sunrise and dusk is defined as 30 minutes after legal sunset. The sunrise and sunset hours are posted at the information kiosk located throughout the park.

At Island Ford, you can spend your time soaking up history at the Hewlett Lodge visitors center or hike the easy-to-moderate 5.5-mile trail that hugs the banks of the river before cutting back through woodlands. The Hewlett Lodge Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except December 25.

Powers Island is one of the most serene sections of the recreation area and less traffic than its popular neighbor, Interstate North, just across the Chattahoochee River. A narrow trail makes a 2.5-mile loop as it follows the riverbank, offers broad views of the Chattahoochee, and climbs through dense forest to explore a portion of a ridge. If you’re looking for a quiet escape, this is a prime destination. Powers Island has a scenic trail system and a watercraft launch.

The Vickery Creek unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is bordered by a Chattahoochee tributary known as Big Creek (aka Vickery Creek). This forested area features a network of trails beside the creek that take you to a waterfall and covered bridge.

This 48-mile stretch of trout water begins at the base of Buford Dam, near Lake Lanier. The river is home to brown and rainbow trout; yellow perch; large-mouth, striped and shoal bass, chain pickerel, bream, catfish and crappie. From Buford Dam to Georgia 500, 19 public accesspoints offer bank access, wading and boating. Restriction: The upper port

The City of Berkeley Lake maintains the popular childrens’ park near City Hall for the enjoyment of area children. In addition, our citizens are committed to protecting our environment through the purchase and maintenance of greenspace.

City Green is a four-acre park that is ideal for gatherings, festivals, and outdoor concerts. Shaded areas are designed for a quiet game of chess, a good book, or simply a good vantage point to people watch. The City Green boasts water features, inspired by the springs that give the city its name and were inspired by the City’s beautiful neighbor – the Chattahoochee River. The walkway through the City Green features pedestrian-friendly, wide sidewalks, a water wall and shade bosque, creating an inviting and dynamic experience for residents as they enjoy a leisurely stroll and the splash pad, an interactive fountain for kid play. 

This small park packs a lot in 11.8 acres: 2 dog parks, 2 picnic pavilions, a 3/4-mile paved walking/jogging path, exercise equipment, grills and a playground.

There are 24 campsites, all with 50 amp electric and water hookups. All the campsites are considered to be premium sites, which means they are open on one side to the shore of Lake Allatoona.

Clover Reach Park in Peachtree City is located on less than one acre of land but offers a great environment for relaxing and friendly fun! Swim a lap in the pool, opened during summer months, or play a game of basketball with friends or teammates; then break out the meals and snacks at the onsite picnic area. The park is also equipped with restrooms.

Park amenities: 25 acres, outdoor basketball courts, playground, lake, pavilion, restrooms, 0.3-mile paved, multi-purpose trail, and grill.

This municipal course is also one of Golfweek’s ‘2011 Best Municipal Courses.’With eight holes along Lake Acworth, the views, mounding and layout are truly something to be enjoyed.

Take the kids down to the pond to feed the fish and then over to the bog garden to marvel at the carnivorous plants. Finish with a hike to one of the local waterfalls and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Includes hiking, jogging and horse trails; primitive camping; playground; picnic shelter; and wildlife habitat.

This 20-acre park includes a 0.4-mile walking/jogging track, 3 pavilions, 8 lighted baseball fields, batting cages, and a playground.

We are a family-run choose-and-cut Christmas Tree farm, proudly serving metro-Atlanta for over 30 years. We have a large selection of Murray Cypress, Leyland Cypress, and Carolina Sapphire to choose from. We provide saws for cutting and also have our own elves to shake and bail your tree free of charge.

15 acres, indoor 25-yard by 25 meter swimming/diving competition pool, outdoor leisure pool with a lazy river, water play structures and two slides, 1.0-mile paved multi-purpose trail with a road crossing to Collins Hill Park across the street. Swimming lessons, water aerobics and other aquatic activities for all ages.

Golf course

95 acres, 1.5-mile soft surface trail, seven baseball/softball fields, football field overlay, lighted basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, fishing lake, restrooms, pavilion, aquatic center with outdoor leisure play and indoor competition pools, grills.

Still Family Farm hosts Corn on the Cobb, an 11-acre fall attraction just west of Atlanta in Cobb County. Open weekends in September and October, you can get lost in a 5-acre corn maze, pick out your pumpkins, watch the kids on the Kiddie Zip, slide down double-barreled slides, race some ducks, and relax on a hayride.

Golf course

The putting greens at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club are Bentgrass, and the perimeter roughs and bunker faces are reminiscent of many legendary Scottish designs. The Denis Griffiths–designed course measures 7,203 yards, with tee boxes, fairways, and roughs that are lushly covered in Bermuda.

The river trail runs along the Towaliga River for approximately 8 miles -open April- October. Our loop trail is nearly 2 miles -open year-round. Cubihatcha’s diverse habitats provide for various native plant and animal sightings.

In the historic Roberts- Mozley House, in the historic residential district, Cultural Arts Center activities include chamber concerts and other performances, readings and book signings, monthly exhibitions, classes, and special events.
