The shaded campground is bordered by tidal Redbird Creek, a boat ramp, fishing dock and the nature trail. A large picnic area offers river views and playgrounds, while another boat ramp provides access to the Ogeechee River. Kayak, canoe and SUP rentals, bike rentals, a playground and geocaching are available.
Public boat ramps around Richmond Hill include the Bryan County Boat Launch just outside Fort McAllister, the Demeries Creek Boat Launch on GA Hwy. 144, west of I-95, and the Tivoli River Fishing Pier & Kayak Launch. Inshore and offshore fishing charters depart from Fort McAllister Marina and Kilkenny Marina.
The 7,400-acre Richmond Hill Wildlife Management Area (WMA) offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game and feral hog. There are also archery and shooting ranges, a boat ramp and canoe access. The WMA offers river fishing and occasionally hosts kids’ fishing events. The archery range features four static target stations, archery tower with six 3D targets and a 3D archery trail with 15 targets. The shooting range features a 14-station, 100-yard rifle range, a 10-station, 50-yard pistol range and indoor & outdoor classrooms.
