We’re all about Farm Ag-Venture! What is that, you say? Well, it’s bumping along on real sociable hayrides, watching our herding dogs at work, meeting friendly farm animals, enjoying picnics, and MORE!

The location hosts many events through the year. It features benches as well as a gazebo. The downtown area also holds a weekly farmers market.

As early as 1911, the theatre was first used to show slides and silent movies in downtown Canton. The Canton Theatre is now an elegant restored facility bringing Broadway productions to downtown Canton.

This Rock Barn was constructed in 1906 by Augustus Lee Coggins. It is believed to
be the only existing rock barn in Georgia. The Barn and the Georgian Revival style
main house across the street (former Wellstar medical office), constitutes the core
of the original 400-acre Crescent Farm which included the Cherokee High School
campus. Originally a stable for Coggins’ harness-racing horses, it was one of three
barns on Coggins’ cotton and horse farm.

The Rock Barn is constructed of stone quarried on the farm from the banks of the
Etowah River. It was built to be fire-resistant because it housed valuable race
horses, including Abbedale, who is listed in the Harness Racing Hall of Fame.

Now a wedding/special events venue.

This park features 58 acres that include an amphitheater, public bathroom, two community pavilions, inclusive playgrounds, public canoe launch, ½ mile concrete walking trail connecting to Etowah River Trail and Heritage Park, recreational field space, bridge crossing over the Etowah River and many picnic tables.

Fairways of Canton take players on a journey through 18 holes and 6500 yards of play. The course is a par 72, and it features some of the best views in the region. Be warned — this is not a course that can be overpowered.

Offers Hot Air Balloon flights for individuals or groups. Schedule a tether event to provide rides for a much larger group of participants.

Built in the 1830s by local militia, it was one of about 25 stockades in the Cherokee Indian Nation used by Federal and State troops during the Cherokee Removal in 1838. A marker gives details of the event.

The G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA is a full-service facility with wellness center, indoor pool, outdoor family leisure pools, gymnasium, game room, indoor walking track, playground, and group exercise classes. Guest passes available. YMCA Away Pass accepted.

Open to the public with indoor shooting range, memberships, classes, gun sales, and rentals.

The park has walking trails, a pond and a large field where you can picnic or play sports.

Stocked reservoir for fishing, working dam with public-access boat ramp for canoes, kayaks, and electric-powered boats only. Call for pass information.

Brown was elected State Senator, Judge of the Superior Court, and Governor during the Civil War. His Canton home stood near the park. The park has swings, slides, and a merry go round.

Lake Allatoona offers 12,000 acres of activities including water sports, sailing, swimming, fishing, and more. Hiking and camping are popular activities along the shoreline of the lake.

Offers on-site paddleboard and kayak rentals; park and paddle option. Restaurant, open in summer, was the movie set from Ozark’s Blue Cat Lodge.

Offers 4-to-6-hour tube, raft, and kayak river trips on the Etowah River. Bike rentals available. Take a bus
ride through downtown Canton, enjoy your river trip, and float to The Mill on Etowah where customers can enjoy food, beverages, and shopping. Paddleboards and ebikes also available to rent.

One of the county’s oldest historic cemeteries and final resting place of many pioneer citizens and their descendants. Many lovely markers are carved from marble quarried locally. Downtown, behind the Arts Center and Court House.
