Come ride (bring your own horse), bike or hike our nature trails. With 11+ miles of wooded trails winding through old-growth hardwood forests, it is easy to spend the entire day here discovering nature, wading in sandy creeks, and escaping the noise of the city. Trail access is by appointment only.

This covered bridge over Nail’s Creek Road was built in 1907. It is one span wide and 132 feet long with a Town Lattice design.

Peaceful campsites and decks on the river, within the shadow of Currahee Mountain.

This energetic 30’ cascade is very easy to reach and view.  It is in the Chattahoochee National Forest in Rabun Gap. 

Travel north six miles out of Clayton on U.S. 441 and turn at Kelly’s Creek Road. Go one mile to Darnell Creek Road. Follow Darnell Creek Road and bear left at the fork. The pavement ends here. Continue about 0.3 miles to a second fork. Park and walk down the right fork of the road approximately 200 yards to the falls.

This Greek revival style features wide cornices, symmetrical fa?ades and double hung windows. Located in downtown Dawsonville, visitors can view historic documents, local relics, and Indian artifacts.

This National Register building is now home to the local welcome center and chamber. Tour the old prison cells and former living quarters.

Dawsonville Moonshine Distillery is a legal moonshine distillery in the heart of ‘The Moonshine Capital of the World’ – Dawsonville, GA. Where else would you find a legal distillery under the same roof as City Hall and the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame? Only in Dawsonville.

Deer Trail is a fun 9 hole regulation course. From the longest tees it features 6,093 yards for a par of 72. The course was designed by Albert Jones. The course rating is 68.8 with a slope rating of 119. Deer Trail is a daily fee golf course with a ‘Call For Playing Privileges’ guest policy.

Estimated height of this falls is 35 feet and it’s only a quarter-mile hike to get there.

From Clayton, take U.S. Highway 76 west for 8 miles to Persimmon Valley Road. Turn right and continue 4 miles to Forest Service Road 70, to the left. Look for Coleman River WMA signs. Continue down this road for 6.6 miles. Denton Branch Road is off this road to the right, just past the “Tate City Mall” and Chapple Road. This road is rough, rocky and single-lane. The trailhead is a couple hundred feet down this road.

This quiet park is perfect for a family gathering under the pavilion or a game of basketball. The park also offers a playground, tennis court, fitness equipment and restrooms.

This waterfall is about 60 feet high and makes a sheer drop over a granite mound into the Chattooga River.

From Clayton, drive 6 miles east on Warwoman Road. Turn right onto Dicks Creek Road or Sand Ford Road. Go 0.5 mile, then take a left across the creek. Go 3.5 miles. Cross second ford and park at Bartram Trail sign. Follow trail north to Dicks Creek. Follow creek to viewing area at top of falls.

Plans for this new park include a lighted ballfield, pavilion, walking trails, playground, outdoor theater, grills, and more.

Open to everyone, the City of Toccoa has two beautiful pools. One is a zero-entry shallow pool, great for small children and new swimmers. The second pool starts at 4′ and slopes down to 5′ with a basketball goal for everyone to enjoy.

The beach at Duckett Mills attracts swimmers, sand castle-builders and sunbathers alike. The campground boasts 97 sites with water and electric hookup plus 14 tent-only sites.

East Hall Community Park is a 90-acre sports complex complete with a 28,000 square-foot multipurpose community center. The park includes a regulation track, 2 concession stands with accessible restrooms, 2 Little League-size baseball/softball fields, and 4 tennis courts.
