Flowery Branch Bay Park has a picnic pavilion, playground, grill and a great view! The park does not have a boat ramp but there’s great fishing from the shore or from the pier.

The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia showcases the handcraft skills of one of the South’s premier grassroots art forms, and explores the historical importance and changing role of folk pottery in Southern life.

Originally known for romantic honeymoon cabins, the resort has quickly become a popular destination for group retreats, corporate events, weddings, and receptions. Activities include horseback riding, outdoor pool, volleyball courts and walking trails.

Multi-use concrete and wooden boardwalk linear trail. Trail heads at 5120 Bethelview Road, Fowler Park, McFarland Parkway east of exit 12 and on Union Hill Road – 6.8 mile walking, jogging and biking path.

At the Foxfire Museum & Heritage Center, you will find homes, tools, trades, crafts and a look at the lifestyle of the all-but-vanished pioneer culture of the Southern Appalachians.

While the 14.5-mile Frady Branch Trail System is popular among horseback riders, the trails are also open to mountain bike riders and hikers. Four loops provide opportunities for different experiences on the trail system. The parking area has separate sections for mountain bikers, hikers, and horse trailers.

This state-of-the-art aquatic facility has it all: 10-Lane Indoor Competition Pool, 4-Lane Indoor Instructional Pool, Seasonal Outdoor Water Park, Water and Land Fitness Classes, as well as Year-round Swim Lessons.

Designed by renowned skate park designer Wally Hollyday, this park provides a safe public space for skateboarding.

Visit The Alley and other exhibits to learn about Georgia’s auto-racing giants, especially Dawsonville’s own Bill Elliott. Watch a movie about how moonshine running evolved into stock car racing.

This recreation area includes a primitive campground (open May 1- Sept. 9), picnic area, and several fishing piers. Other amenities include restrooms and drinking water.

Located one half mile south of Alpine Helen in Nacoochee Village, the winery is open daily for complimentary tastings and self guided tours.

This 18-hole course cuts through the rolling foothills of North Georgia with several elevation changes on the front 9. The back 9, however, is much more open and flat as it winds its way through streams and wetlands.

This family owned and operated marina on the Georgia and South Carolina border on beautiful Lake Hartwell offers a variety of services including boat rentals, slip rentals, fuel sales, and a well-stocked ship store.

Swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing on Lake Hartwell are prime reasons to visit Hart Outdoor Recreation Area in northeast Georgia. The park’s boat ramps and docks offer easy access to all water sports. Visitors can also enjoy hiking/biking trails and a children’s playground.

Bermuda fairways and greens welcome shots from four different sets of tees. Tree-lined fairways, four dog-legs, three ponds and a well positioned creek on the finishing hole gives golfers choices and go-for-it opportunities!

Hartwell Lake is one of the Southeast’s largest and most popular public recreation lakes. Each year, millions of people use the many public parks, marinas and campgrounds located around the lake.
