The River Trail -

To walk along the Ocmulgee River, follow the Main Path, passing the Trading Post Site on your right and cross a spot where the trail intersects with the road within the park. Or simply park in the parking lot near this intersection.

A section of the trail is a boardwalk over the Walnut Creek wetlands. Once you are back on the ground you will first encounter Walnut Creek and then come upon the Ocmulgee River. There are two short paths off the River Trail that lead to nice views of the river – the River Front path and the River Overlook.

Be aware that visitors have encountered dangerous wildlife, such as alligators, in this area of the park; stay alert.
